femslash100100 (zeroes table, prompt 026 "careless"). See the full table here. Takes place after episode 2, but with the idea Faye and Diana are already a couple. Also available on AO3
As the newly-bound circle broke up for the night, Diana approached Faye. Turning to face the other girl, Faye said “I’m not really in the mood for a lecture right now, Diana.”
With a sigh, Diana said “I actually just wanted to make sure you are okay. But now that you mention it, maybe a lecture is called for. Your carelessness could have killed Sally tonight.”
To Diana’s surprise, she saw tears forming in Faye’s eyes. “You don’t think I know that?” And even though Faye hated Sally and everything she stood for, she didn’t want to be a murderer. “And I could have killed you, too.” She added that last part quietly, just barely above a whisper.
Diana’s expression softened. Reaching out, she wrapped her arms around Faye. Then she said “Hey, I’m okay.” While there had been a few scary moments on the dock there, Diana had been unharmed. “And now that the circle is bound, we don’t have to worry about that again.”
Nodding, Faye said “I guess that’s true.” While Faye wasn’t happy about the idea of not having individual power anymore, it was worth the tradeoff if it meant Diana would be safe.
Diana pressed a kiss to Faye’s forehead. Then she said “Come on, let’s go back to my place and have ice cream.”
Rolling her eyes, Faye said “You’re like an overgrown preschooler. Wouldn’t you rather have me for dessert instead?” The tears were gone from her eyes now.
Laughing, Diana said “Always.”
