Femslash100100: 018 Excuses
Title: Excuses
femslash100100 (zeroes table, prompt 018 "excuses"). See the full table here. Takes place following the events of Apocalypse. Also available on AO3.
It happened less than two days after Mallory pulled Madison from Hell. Zoe was sitting in her bedroom reading a novel when there was a knock on her door. Before she could respond, the door was pushed open and in walked Madison. Zoe’s mood soured. “What do you want?”
Madison grinned. “Aren’t you happy to see me?” she asked, walking over to where the other woman sat in a chair. Standing behind her, Madison wrapped her arms around Zoe.
“Oh no, we are not doing this,” said Zoe, her voice full of annoyance.
“Because Kyle isn’t here?” They were no strangers to sleeping together, but had never done so without Kyle.
Zoe scoffed. “No, because you were willing to leave me dead.”
Madison rolled her eyes. “But you're not dead anymore. And I spent years in Hell for that.”
“So what? Did I really mean that little to you?” Zoe’s voice revealed the pain she felt.
“Do I need to make excuses? I wanted to be the Supreme and you were a potential obstacle.”
Zoe stood, pushing Madison’s arms off of her. “I never would have done that to you!” After Madison’s murder, Zoe had done everything possible.
“Fine. I’m sorry.” Madison rarely apologized, so the words felt strange on her lips.
Zoe shook her head and stormed out of the room, not ready to forgive the other witch. But as Madison stood there, another smile formed on her face. Zoe may not forgive her yet, but she would eventually.
