“Isn’t there anybody else you could be doing this with?” Audrey asked Brooke, not for the first time that day. “Like Emma. Or literally anybody else.”

Brooke shook her head. “I told you, I want your opinion.” After all, Brooke might know fashion, but Audrey was the expert on how a woman looked. And Brooke wanted to look good for Audrey.

“Why do you even wear those things? They make running so much harder.” And if there was one thing their shared experience as the near-victims of serial killers had taught Audrey, the value of fast running could not be overrated.

“Because wearing heels makes my butt look more attractive,” Brooke said, slipping on another pair of shoes.

“I’m pretty sure the science around that is sketchy at best” said Audrey. But as Brooke stood in the shoes and gave a little twirl in front of the mirror, Audrey found her eyes drawn to the other girl’s backside.

As she looked in the mirror, Brooke was able to see Audrey was looking at her. Giving a laugh, she said “Well, what do you think? Are these the ones?”

After a moment, Audrey nodded. “Maybe there’s something to this after all.”
