So far everything was going according to Lydia’s plan. The party she’d thrown for her friends was over, and now she and Allison were stretched across the redhead’s bed, watching some Hallmark Christmas movie.

Moving from where she was curled up at her girlfriend’s side, Allison said “I’m going to use the bathroom. Don’t pause the movie.” She wasn’t nearly as fond of these movies as Lydia was, but she was willing to endure them for the other girl’s sake.

Once she was sure Allison was in the bathroom, Lydia reached into her nightstand. Pulling out the sprig of mistletoe that she’d stashed there, she hurried to hang it above the doorframe to her bedroom. If there was one drawback to having werewolves for friends, it was that mistletoe was an incredibly bad idea as holiday decor.

Standing there waiting for Allison, she shot the brunette a grin when the other girl came back into sight and stepped into the doorway next to her. Allison glanced at the mistletoe above them and said “I was starting to wonder if this was ever going to make an appearance.”

Frowning, Lydia said “Am I that predictable?”

Allison laughed at the banshee’s expression and said “No more predictable than this movie we’re watching. But you know, if you really wanted to kiss me, all you had to do was say so.”

Lydia’s frown turned into a smile. Then she closed the distance between the two of them and pressed her lips to Allison’s.
