April stood in front of the mirror, brushing her hair. In the mirror’s reflection, she saw Rebekah laying in bed, wearing nothing but a bedsheet. A thought occurred to her.
Turning to face Rebekah, April said “Hey, can I ask you a vampire-related question? How come you have a reflection when all those books and movies say vampires have no reflection?”
Rebekah laughed lightly, then stood up and began putting her underwear on. “I’m pretty sure that idea started with Bram Stoker. And there was a lot he got wrong about vampires.” Dracula was kind of a joke among her and her brothers.
April shook her head, then said “Like what?” She was still new to this whole ‘vampires are real’ thing, even if she was dating an original vampire.
Pulling her dress on over her bra and underwear, Rebekah said “Well, I certainly don’t hate garlic. And I don’t transform into a bat.” Or a wolf either, but since Klaus was capable of that particular ability, Rebekah would give the myths a little wiggle room in that regard.
“I see” said April. She moved to sit down on the bed, still processing everything Rebekah was telling her.
Rebekah sat down next to April, kissing her before she said “I know this is a lot to take in. But I’m glad I can be honest with you about it.” In the past, not all of Rebekah’s lovers were as understanding.
April smiled. “I’m glad you trusted me with your secret.”
