Jessica stepped into Fangtasia. The club wasn’t open yet, but she’d come to Shreveport so that she could be there when it opened. As a vampire in Area Five, she had to put in an appearance a few times a week, and she’d prefer to just get it over for the week.
As she walked into the backroom to let Pam know she was there, the other vampire turned and made a face. “Who have you been spending time with? You smell amazing.”
If Jessica could have blushed, she would have. She’d spent the evening with Adilyn before heading over to the club, and she probably should have showered and changed first. But she’d been spending so much time with her girlfriend that she’d forgotten the way Adilyn’s scent would drive most vampires crazy.
“You know what, I don’t actually want to know.” Pam had a dislike of anything fairy, because she associated the other species so strongly with Sookie. “Just get in the shower while I find you some clothes that don’t smell like a fairy buffet. Because if you smell like that when we open, the other vampires will try ripping you apart.” Most vampires lost their mind the first time they encountered anything even remotely smelling like a fairy.
Jessica stepped into the industrial shower, washing her hair and scrubbing the scent of Adilyn from her skin. She made a mental note to save the cuddling with her girlfriend for nights when she wasn’t going to Fangtasia.
