“You know, when you asked me to come over to your house to study, I didn’t know you actually wanted to study” Calliope said, pushing the textbook on Juliette’s bed aside so that she could press her lips to the vampire’s.
Juliette returned the kiss for a long moment, before finally breaking it. Then she said “As much fun as this is, I really do want to pass this class.” Juliette wasn’t exactly failing, but she was finding chemistry to be more challenging than she’d anticipated.
Cal sighed. “From where I’m sitting, you look like you know everything about chemistry.” There was a mischievous smile on her lips now. “Come on, all this work without making time to play will give you grey hair.” Which would be particularly impressive, given Juliette’s vampire status.
While Juliette could have just used her vampire powers to convince her teacher to give her a passing grade, she felt that was a slippery slope into becoming the sort of monster she was actively trying not to become. She said “I just want to be normal for as long as possible, you know?”
Calliope nodded. She understood. This was the first time she’d been in one place long enough to actually feel anything remotely like a normal teenager, so she would give into Juliette’s wishes. Picking up her textbook again, she said “Okay, you win. But when we both ace the next test, you owe me one. And I intend to cash in.”
“Deal” promised Juliette.
